Here's a digital piece that took me for-bloody-ever to finish. I really struggled with getting this to look the way I wanted it to. I'm not entirely satisfied but I have to get my images in for grad school so this is as finished as it's going to get right now.

This is a fantastic piece. I'm currently studying this sort of thing in class so seeing it so well illustrated is wonderful. :)

Ringo: John thought of the name Beatles, and he'll tell you about it now.
John: It's just that it means Beatles, isn't it, you know? That's just a name, like "shoe."
Paul: "The Shoes." See, we could've been called "The Shoes," for all you know."

Thanks Jeff.
I thought this piece would garner a bit more attention than it has. Frankly, my fragile little ego is suffering from the lack of mobs of anonymous people on DeviantArt singing my praises.

That neck makes her look like one of those japanese ghosts. Any significance to this piece? I'm taking it as an allegory to the relationship between men and women. The woman is on a pedastool and its hard to say who is bound by who.

I was referencing a poem by Coventry Patmore that became the de facto rulebook on how women should be treated back in the 1850s. I'm a big fan of British literature from that era and it's interesting to me how that entire era viewed the relationship between the sexes.
I don't want to turn this into a boring lecture but basically the Victorians imprisoned women by placing them under tremendous pressure to be the perfect docile woman. The idea was that men are base creatures and the perfection of women can make them better than they are.

I think that idea really does come through in this piece. More or less. Sometimes its fun to come up with your own interpretation though.
