Here's a little something that I've worked on for a little bit. I tried to really work on some darker cross hatching. This was done with one of those pilot V5 pens, just for old time's sake.

I concur, that's pretty quick for that amount of lines... liney stuff, you know what I mean. Looking at it, though, guess it's a lot of hatching, a lot of surface finish stuff on an otherwise pretty simple drawing. So I don't feel quite as bad about fussing with an ink sketchbook picture for 4 to 5 hours.

How many flippin' V5's did it take you to do all that? I too used to be a big fan of the Pilot V series of pens, until Faber-Castell PITT Artist pens came around. I still whip out the V5's and V7's on occasion for hatch work, just because I like the action on the V series better... trails on and back off the page a bit prettier than the PITTs are capable of doing. Unfortunately, though, all my V's are all dried up and crusty from lack of use now.

Just one V5, though it's about spent. I usually use the pitt pens too, but I thought it'd be fun to give the ol' v5 a whirl again since there is definitely a different feel to it.

Thats some great and heavy texture you got there. How long did this take you?

I worked on it in odd moments, so it's hard to say. I would say maybe 4 or 5 hours all together...
